Weekend Weather Outlook: Slight Cooling and Thunderstorms

After a week of heat, southeast Colorado will start to see a slight cooling trend toward the end of the weekend, along with an increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Friday and Saturday daytime temperatures will remain near 100 before dropping off to the lower 90s Sunday and into the coming week. Evening temperatures will be in the low to mid-60s.

CPW Supports Proposal to Expand Baca County Hunting, Fishing Opportunities

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is pleased to support the recent proposed expansion of hunting and fishing opportunities at Baca, Alamosa and Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuges in Colorado by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS).

CPW’s Director Bob Broscheid said FWS and the National Wildlife Refuge system are important partners in conserving and managing Colorado's wildlife communities.

Financial Assistance Available for Organic Certification

Financial assistance is available for Colorado companies with an organic certification. In order to qualify for this year’s reimbursement, producers and handlers must have received certification or continuation of certification by a US Department of Agriculture (USDA) accredited certifying agent commencing October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016.
