After the first two COVID-19 cases in Colorado were announced Thursday evening, the number now stands at 8.

This week is Flood and Wildfire Awareness Week in Colorado. The National Weather Service offices in the state, and KiowaCountyPress.net – a Weather Ready Nation partner – are bringing you a series of articles this week to help you improve your safety and preparedness. A warm weekend for Kiowa County, with highs in the low to mid-70s. Lots of sunshine on Saturday, and then I expect the clouds to be on the increase by Sunday afternoon.

Look for partly cloudy skies Monday and Tuesday, with high temperatures of 65 to 70 degrees. We have only a slight possibility of a shower from Wednesday to Friday of next week, with chances currently set at 20%.

Washington, California and Florida are mulling a permanent switch to DST. Proponents say that doing so could improve health, save energy and prevent crime.
