August 17, 1948 – March 4, 2020

Mrs. Emmert passed away at her home in Kit Carson.

Funeral services are pending.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

The Kiowa County Hospital District and County Board met in regular session on January 28, 2020 at 6:32 p.m. at the Bransgrove Building Meeting Room. 

District Board members present were: Mary Eikner, Cathryn Anderson, Sylvia Shields, Dennis Pearson, and Priscilla Waggoner. 

County Board members present were: Kevin Davis, Ken Flory, Craig Kerfoot, Whitney Barnett and John Negley. 

Sponsors of a Colorado initial to restrict abortion to the first 22 weeks of pregnancy submitted 137,000 signatures to the Colorado Secretary of State.

A bill that would allow college athletes to profit off of their names and likenesses is headed to the desk of Gov. Jared Polis after receiving bipartisan support in both chambers of the Colorado General Assembly.
