The Spring Fling Craft Fair held at Plainview School on Saturday was a huge success.  There were lots of different products and craft items to see and purchase.  The Plainview Community Club members served a delicious lunch and the cheerleaders had a large variety of baked goodies for sale.  A very enjoyable day!  Hats off to the PCC for a job well done!!

A Day in the Life

By Michelle Wyckoff

Jonathan Swift.  The author of the book “Gulliver’s Travels”, a great adventure story about a man named Lemuel Gulliver.  The story takes place between the years 1699 to 1702.  I’ve decided to rewrite this famous classic.

Let’s call the new version…..”Gullible’s Travels.”  It’s about the adventures of a girl and takes place between the years 1955 and 2016.  This girl has gone to school.  She’s learned things.  She’s older now, and some  life’s lessons will never leave her.

National Telecommunicator’s Week

An emergency arises and you call 9-1-1 for help, but you don’t know what to tell the dispatcher because you’ve suddenly forgotten your address. Being prepared can help eliminate some of the stress that sets in during emergencies. National Public Safety Telecommunicator’s Week and 9-1-1 Education Month serve as important reminders that being prepared can make all the difference!

Home Country

By Slim Randles

My first wife came from a ranching family way back up in the hills and had a cousin, Ted, who was a hounddog man.

I talked my way into hunting with him, of course.

All went well until we were on the way home, when a badger ran across the road and dove into a large culvert pipe.

"Oh wow!" Ted yelled. "Let's get him!"

He released most of the hounds and they plugged both ends of the culvert pipe with bawling insults. In the dead center of the pipe was a snarling badger.
