Weekend Weather Outlook: Cool, Wet with a Risk of Flash Floods

UPDATE: a Flash Flood Watch is in effect until midnight, and rainfall amounts are now projected to be in the three-quarters to one inch range.

Monsoon-like moisture typically expected in late July and early August has made an unfortunate appearance for harvest season.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, confirms a potentially active day in Kiowa County Friday, with a risk of strong winds, hail to one inch, and even the possibility of tornadoes.

July 30 Deadline for State Fair Fine Arts Entries

 Artists throughout Colorado are busy preparing their artwork for the Colorado State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition. The popular and prestigious part of the annual event showcases original artwork by Colorado residents.

The list of accepted mediums includes painting, sculpture, photography, fiber art, jewelry/metalsmithing, and others. Two divisions for artwork submission are being offered: Emerging Artist and Professional. All artwork chosen for the exhibition will be on display in the Fine Arts Building during the entire length of the Fair.
