As the 2018 legislative session looms, Colorado Parks and Wildlife is calling on hunters, anglers, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who wants a voice in wildlife issues to attend a Southeast Region Sportsmen’s Caucus, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. January 23.

The caucus will convene in the auditorium of the Visitor Center at Lake Pueblo State Park, 640 Pueblo Reservoir Road. It is expected to end by 8:00 p.m.

Firefighters from multiple Lincoln county agencies were called to the 1st Inn Gold motel in Limon early Saturday morning in response to a fire at the business.

According to the Limon Police Department, hotel guests were evacuated, and there are no known injuries.

Initial reports of the fire came in around 3:30 Saturday morning. The fire was reported to be contained around 8:30 a.m., however the building has been extensively damaged and firefighters continued to mop up hot spots.

While one lucky winner in Florida will walk away with $450 million from Friday night’s Mega Million lottery drawing, you still have a chance to win an estimated $570 million in the Powerball drawing Saturday night.

One – or possibly more – winners can choose an annuity that would pay out the full amount over 29 years, or opt for a lump-sum cash payout estimated at over $358 million before taxes. If there is more than one winner, the prizes will be split evenly across the group.

Odds of winning the top prize are one in over 292 million.

The Internal Revenue Service has announced that tax filing season will begin January 29. Nearly 155 million individual tax returns are expected in 2018.
