Farm Credit of Southern Colorado recently held Board of Director elections by mail ballot for four positions on the Board.
Stockholders elected to serve three-year terms on the association’s Board include Jeff Uhland of Eads, Jim Crowder of La Junta, Mike Livingston of Stratton, and Sid Yoder of Karval.

The Colorado Department of Revenue’s Division of Motor Vehicles has launched 15 new online services at mydmv.colorado.gov, bringing total online services offering to 34. These online services were added as part of the transition to the new DRIVES computer system, which took place over the weekend.
Farm production expenditures in the United States are estimated at $359.8 billion for 2017, up from $346.9 billion in 2016. The 2017 total farm production expenditures are up 3.7 percent compared with 2016 total farm production expenditures. During the first two weeks of September, growers of small grains around the country will receive survey forms from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). The agency is taking a comprehensive look into the 2018 production and supply of small grains, which include wheat, oats, barley, and rye.
Gene and Carolyn (Baublits) of Canon City, were married August 31, 1958, at the United Methodist Church in Las Animas. They started their married life in Eads.
Gene retired from 35 years of service in the United States Department of Agriculture (ASCS) after working in Las Animas, Eads, Holyoke, and Canon City. Gene also served 23 years in the Colorado Army National Guard.
In Eads, Carolyn worked for the Superintendent of Eads Schools, Lovett’s Triangle Clothiers and John Deer.
