The holiday season is upon us.  Black Friday is this week and the retail stores have been bombarding us with advertising for their Black Friday specials. Identity thieves and scam artists plan all year for this shopping holiday. Bart Michael was given a welcoming letter to the Eads Chamber of Commerce from Chamber President Dennis Pearson and Vice President John Courkamp. 

The Chamber welcomes Bart’s new Michael’s Auto and Diesel Service Center new business on Wanstead Street across the street to the south of Hometown Gas and Grill. 

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:

The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) and the Colorado Energy Office (CEO) are seeking applicants for agricultural energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. The total amount available for assistance in fiscal year 2018 is $350,000. The funding is available to Colorado agricultural irrigators, dairies, greenhouses, nurseries, and cold storage facilities.

Shorter days and cooler nights produce fireplace weather and to help keep the public warm, Lake Pueblo State Park is again inviting visitors to gather free firewood from the shorelines within park boundaries.

Between November 15 and December 15, driftwood found along the lake shores may be taken for free by visitors. No other wood, including limbs and branches on live or dead standing trees, may be gathered.

Permits are unlimited and can be obtained at the park’s Visitor Center between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., seven days-a-week.

The Kiowa County Commissioner’s Regular meeting was called to order on October 26, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Richard Scott. Scott opened the meeting with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Those in attendance were:
