Learn how to provide emergency care for pets until veterinary assistance is available
For more than 100 years, the American Red Cross has been training people to perform first aid skills so they could save the lives of others. Now, the organization announces the release of its new Cat and Dog First Aid online course so that owners will know what to do in an emergency until veterinary care is available.

Sunday, October 29 2017, Deputies received a report of a burglary on the 15000 block of county road 38. After investigation, Deputies issued a felony warrant for Therisa Brown (DOB 05/28/1988) for the charges of Second Degree Burglary (CRS 18-4-203), Theft Against at risk Adult (CRS 18-6.5-103) and Unlawful possession of a controlled substance (CRS 18-18-403.5). Later Brown turned herself into the Prowers County Sheriff’s Office. |

A meeting of the Lower Arkansas Valley Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council will be held on Tuesday, January 16 at 12:00 p.m. at Ranchers Restaurant, 33110 CR 7, Lamar.
Agenda items will include a report on LAVAAA Provider Budget Update, a review of Advisory Council Bylaws, Eastern Plains Legislative Task Force and Technical Review Committee, and any unfinished business.
The meeting is open to the public, and citizen participation is encouraged.

The Kiowa County Commissioners Regular meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Richard Scott on December 28, 2017. Scott opened the meeting with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Those in attendance were:

McLoud moved and Oswald seconded the motion to accept the minutes as presented. Motion carried.
Oswald moved and McLoud seconded to approve the vouchers as presented. Motion carried.
Less than two months after Colorado was largely clear of drought, another week of substantial increase is impacting the state.
