School resource officers can prevent tragedies, but training is key
According to a 2017 study by the Colorado Department of Transportation, the five counties with the lowest seat belt use in Colorado were all rural: La Plata (74 percent), Montezuma (74.4 percent), Cheyenne (75.2 percent) and Mesa (75.5 percent).
Employers in Colorado added 8,600 nonfarm payroll jobs from January to February for a total of 2,701,800 jobs, according to the survey of business establishments. Private sector payroll jobs increased 9,000 and government decreased 400.
Disaster declarations by the United States Department of Agriculture and Small Business Administration are allowing aid to be provided to counties in Colorado and neighboring states.

It was the cold outside that bound us together better inside the Mule Barn truck stop. The coffee warmed our innards and the laughter at the philosophy counter heated our souls to very comfortable.
It was Doc who noticed it first. He’s trained to be observant, of course.

Dud, whose body would fall into the “just right” category, shook his head.
“Not me, Doc. Why do you ask?”
