The 2016 Colorado State Fair is offering money-saving discounts every day to help the Fair fit within the family budget.

“Tickets to most Colorado State Fair events include gate admission and access to our many free attractions,” said State Fair General Manager, Sarah Cummings. “Plus, we offer a wide variety of daily deals and discounts to give fair-goers even more value for their dollar.”

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has launched a youth marijuana prevention campaign aimed at “trusted adults.” The campaign provides parents, educators, coaches, mentors and others who work with youth with the tools, tips and information they need to talk to youth about the importance of not using retail marijuana before age 21.

A memorial service for longtime Eads, Colorado resident, Kathleen Kay Shade, affectionately known to her family and friends as Kathy, will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 1:30PM at the Living Covenant Church in Lamar with Pastor Rick Beard officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Kit Carson Cemetery in Kit, Carson.

Per Kathy’s request cremation will take place and there will be no visitation.

"Back to School Night"  was well attended and everyone enjoyed the ice cream and brownies served by the Sheridan Lake 4-H club.

On Saturday, Susan Greenfield went to Pueblo with Tina Kraft and her granddaughter Khylar.  They were celebrating Khylar's 14th birthday.  Happy late birthday, Khylar.
