Three defendants were sentenced this week for unrelated child pornography crimes, Acting U.S. Attorney Bob Troyer announced. The three cases were investigated by the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Spring seems like forever away but now is the time to be thinking about tree and shrub planting for spring! The CSU Seedling Tree Program has begun and we are, as always, excited to provide this service to you. There is a large variety of deciduous trees and shrubs available this year. There is no longer a minimum acreage requirement to order trees, but the nursery stock is to be used for conservation purposes only.
The fall semester is moving quickly at Lamar Community College and spring is right around the corner! Registration for the upcoming semester will open November 1 and a preview of the available courses is now available.
LCC has added several new courses for the spring semester, including a new ag course that helps give an introduction to precision agriculture: Applied Information Technology in Agriculture (AGR 233).

A celebration of life funeral service for longtime Hartman resident, Vernon G. Crum, was held October 25, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Holly with Pastor Galen Burnett officiating. Burial followed at the Holly Cemetery.
Vernon G. Crum was born September 10, 1931, in Kiowa County, Colorado, to William Dennis Crum and Helen Jewel Blackwill-Crum and departed this life October 20, 2017 at the Holly Nursing Care Center at the age of 86 with his family by his side.

My first recollection of Doris Lessenden is when she was able to return to school after being stricken with Polio. Brother Virgil carrying her through the front doors of the 'old school' and everyone cheering. Because there aren't elevators in the school and there were 2 flights of stairs, the 2 boys would create a bench with their arms and carry Doris up the stairs.

Christina Gillette Randle, a first-grade teacher at Soaring Eagles Elementary, was named the 2018 Colorado Teacher of the Year today in a surprise announcement by Dr. Katy Anthes, Colorado’s Commissioner of Education, at a school assembly.
