Theresa Weber, retired from Sheridan Lake area postmaster, was honored at potluck luncheon & program held at the Plainview School on August 5. Jerry Weber, Theresa son and the mayor of Sheridan Lake presented a proclamation declaring August 5, 2001 “Theresa Weber Day”. Jerry Jones, US Postmaster Eads , presented a service award, gold watch and an attaché case on behalf of the United States Postal Service.

As I looked over the whole, back page, full color ad last week, encouraging everyone in Kiowa County to “ fuel their careers” by applying for jobs at the up-and -coming Loves Travel Stop, it brought to mind my second job.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is seeking sportsmen's input on funding the future of wildlife management and conservation in Colorado. Hunters, anglers or anyone that would like to learn more about the financial challenges facing the state's wildlife management agency is invited to attend a discussion with CPW representatives, Wednesday, Aug. 24, 6 p.m. at Grand County CSU Extension Office, 210 11 Street in Kremmling.

Kiowa County Commissioners Meeting Minutes – July 28

The Regular Kiowa County Commissioner meeting was called to order at 09:05 a.m. on July 28, 2016 by Chairman Richard Scott. Scott opened with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Those in Attendance were:

 Richard Scott, Chairman
 Cindy McLoud, Commissioner
 Donald Oswald, Commissioner
 Delisa Weeks, County Clerk
 Tina Adamson, County Administrator

McLoud moved and Oswald seconded the motion to approve the minutes as presented. All Commissioners voted Affirmative.
