Colorado Crop Progress and Condition Summary – Week Ending June 10, 2018
Abnormally hot and dry conditions accelerated crop development and fieldwork across Colorado last week, according to the Mountain Region Field Office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service, USDA. Most areas received no moisture last week, but some isolated storms with damaging hail were observed in northeastern counties.

Funeral services for Lola “Bambi” Conner will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Praise Community Church in Eads. Burial will follow in the Eads Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Praise Community Church where the family will be receiving friends.

LCC Announces Academic Honors for Spring 2018 Semester
A total of 111 Lamar Community College students have earned academic honors for the Spring 2018 semester including 56 named to the President’s List for achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Each semester, Lamar Community College credits its top-performing students with three distinct honors: President’s List, GPA of 4.0, Vice President’s List, GPA of 3.75-3.99, and Dean’s List, GPA of 3.5-3.74.
LCC President Dr. Linda Lujan praised the students’ hard work and dedication.
East End Events
Can't believe we are in the middle of June already. The kids will be back in school in 2 months and it seems like summer vacation just started. It is a busy time with kids playing baseball, summer basketball and helping out on the farm.
Susan Greenfield reported that the "Book Fair" winners were Amanda Koeller with a Hawks Nest certificate for $20; Lori Healy $10 and Carrol Allen for $5. She would like to thank everyone who supported the library. Susan also sent in $175 worth of box tops, so please keep saving those box tops.

· Balloon Travels 1416 Miles in 23 Hours. The nursing Home residents acted in a balloon lift with the 2nd& 3rdgraders from Eads Elementary. The next morning Nancy Wilson received a response from John Farmer who lives in Savannah Georgia
