- State and local health department laboratories have started testing dead birds, mosquitoes and horses for West Nile Virus.
- Severe hail cut two wide swaths through the county. The hardest hit area is from north of Hwy 96 between Sheridan Lake and Towner and east of Hwy 385 south to the Prowers County line. The hailed covers approximately 220 square miles (140,000 acres).
