Governor John Hickenlooper appointed by executive order Carrie Besnette Hauser of Glenwood Springs, James George Spehar of Grand Junction, Marie E. Haskett of Meeker and Marvin Edward McDaniel of Sedalia to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission, August 29.
Hauser and Spehar are serving as representatives of outdoor recreation and utilization of parks resources, with terms expiring July 1, 2019. Hauser and Spehar replace the resigning Christopher J. Castilian of Denver and William G. Kane of Basalt.
Rich Glover of Eads has been drawn as the Grand Prize winner in the first Praire Pines raffle. Glover will receive $5,886.
Over 40 addition prizes were awarded Friday evening. A full list of winners will be available shortly.

James, bride-elect of Ryan Shoemaker on Saturday, Sept. 16th at 11am. The

After a series of earthquakes in April, Rangely, in Rio Blanco county, is again the site of a series of quakes that began Thursday morning.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the first quake, measuring 2. 5 on the Richter scale, occurred just before 3:00 a.m. Thursday. It was centered 2.5 miles north of Rangely at a depth of two miles.
The second earthquake was centered in the same area at a depth of about 3.5 miles. It occurred just before 2:00 p.m. and measured 2.4 on the scale.
In the 1980 movie classic, "The Mountain Men", the character Henry Frapp is questioned by a young green horn: "Haven't you ever been lost?" Frapp scratches his whiskers and after a recollecting pause, replies, "A fearsome confused for a month or two… but I ain't ever been lost!"
