Colorado Students Graduate from Fort Hays State University

Colorado students are among 765 students who completed associate, bachelor's or graduate degrees at Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kan., in the fall 2016 semester. 
Graduates are listed with their degrees and majors and, in parentheses, areas of concentration. 
Fort Hays State, one of six public universities in the Kansas Board of Regents system, does not release degree lists until transcripts have been verified as having met all requirements for graduation.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Eads

The Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Fifteenth Judicial District Drug Task Force, has announced the recovery of a stolen pickup, which was located in Eads February 10.

Drugs and drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle.

Three adults were arrested in connection with vehicle recovery.

Recipe - Beef and Noodle Casserole

Makes: 6 Servings

This is a delicious way to use ground beef. You can also use ground beef in patties or in mixed dishes with vegetables.

Ingredients

1⁄2 pound egg noodles (uncooked)

  nonstick cooking spray

1 pound ground beef

1 can low-sodium diced tomatoes (drained, about 15 ounces)

3⁄4 cup light sour cream

1 teaspoon dried basil (if you like)

3⁄4 cup low-fat cheddar (or mozzarella cheese)

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 

 

CPW Completes Survey of Prairie Dog Habitat and Populations

Along with other western states in cooperation with the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, Colorado Parks & Wildlife has conducted an east slope survey of black-tailed prairie dogs.  Images collected on airplane flights in the summer of 2015 were used to map occupied habitat throughout eastern Colorado and the findings are proving positive for these prairie dwellers.
