Kiowa County Hospital District Official Minutes for April 26, 2016
The Kiowa County Hospital District and County Board met in regular session on April 26, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bank Meeting Room.
District Board members present were: Gary Aughenbaugh, Roland Sorensen (by phone), Robert Woods, John Negley and Cathryn Anderson.
County Board members present were: Sylvia Shields, Craig Kerfoot, Dennis Pearson, Kim Harris and Lori Shalberg.
Others present: Tristen Sheridan, Braylynn Eder, Dawn Back, Wendy McDowell, Char Korrell, Priscilla Waggoner, Shannon Dixon, Cindy McLoud, Kevin Siefkas. Tom Davis and Tammy McMillan.

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper and Lt. Gov. Donna Lynne will visit Eads, Colorado and travel to Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site to see the future site of a National Park Service (NPS) facility and recognize the transfer of state-owned lands to the historic site. Arriving in Eads at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27, the governor will present remarks to the community and elected officials at the Murdock Building on Maine Street.

Independence Pass Set to Open Thursday
Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) crews have been working for several weeks to clear the way for an on-target opening of Independence Pass on Thursday, May 26 at Noon.
Last Friday, CDOT crews worked with the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) to perform avalanche mitigation to clear up to one dozen slide paths that can impact the road. Necessary work to open the gates may include the following:
Clearing avalanche slide paths (up to 12 total)
New temporary registration pilot program begins Monday
A new temporary registration permit will be issued by five auto dealers and three county motor vehicle offices as part of a pilot program beginning May 23. All auto dealers and county motor vehicle offices will be issuing new permits by the end of June.
The most noticeable change to the new permit is the requirement for it to be placed on the rear of the vehicle where the permanent license plate is normally affixed.
