• The lapse of federal appropriations and the subsequent partial shutdown of government agencies has forced the closure of the Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site in Kiowa County  for the safety of visitors and park resources
• FSA Office employees are officially furloughed beginning Monday, December 31st due to lapse in Federal government funding and will remain so until the funding has been restored.  Employees will not have access to email or voicemail during this time.
• NRCS Offices remain open until further notice.

Let’s get outdoors! There are so many ways to embrace nature when you live in Colorado, whether it’s hiking, horse riding, or skiing, you’re never out of options—especially during the winter. No matter what, there’s always something to do in the fresh air and sunlight.

When it comes to skiing, there are some different options for you, including downhill skiing and backcountry skiing. Today, however, we want to focus on cross-country skiing. This rewarding sport lets you take in the tremendous beauty around you as you take in the fresh air at your own pace.

Many people tend to forget about hiking in the winter. This is unfortunate, because we lose out on so many opportunities to experience the wintry side of nature – especially in Colorado. The snowcapped mountains and the extensive trails look that much more beautiful when they’re sparkling in the snow. Besides, hiking is a wonderful way to get your heart rate up and breathe in some fresh air. Mrs. Harms passed away peacefully in Boulder.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 11, 2019, at the Grant Evangelical Free Church in Grant, Nebraska, at 12:00 p.m. 

Burial will follow at the Madrid Cemetery in Madrid, Nebraska.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grant Evangelical Free Church, Box 772; Grant, NE  69140.
